St Paul Lutheran Church parking lot and shelter
4686 East Walnut St, Westerville OH 43081
See you then!

September Club Swap Meet

Be sure to attend our fall swap meet, it is located at 4686 East Walnut St. in Westerville, just east of the Hoover reservoir. The date is September 12th 2015 from 8AM till 11AM. This venue has proven to be a fine place for a swap meet. There is a covered area with bathrooms and electric available.

This past spring we had a good number of sellers and the event was well attended. Be sure come out and visit with antique radio enthusiasts and find some bargains.

Please note that Google Maps and the map on your iPhone have trouble with E. Walnut street as the Hoover reservoir cuts it off. Off of Sunbury rd. take Central College across the lake. Make a left on Cubbage, then right on Walnut.

June Club Meeting

Kent King is hosting at his home the June 17 the club meeting for Central Ohio Antique Radio Association.
Kent is a nationally known E H Scott radio collector and historian. E H Scott was a Chicago custom radio set builder. Scott radios were noted for superior performance, leading edge technology and the distinctive chrome plated chassis radios of the 1930’s. Scott was a pioneer of high fidelity and his 1935 model was the first true high fidelity radio available for the home – wide band, audio power, woofer and tweeters – designed for the experimental high fidelity stations that predated FM broadcasting. Kent;s collection includes some rare models and rare cabinets spanning the mid 1920’s into the 1950’s. Kent recently completed an out building to house his collection.
Allow 40 minutes from north Columbus to Kent’s home and alpaca farm located between Delaware and Radnor Ohio. I recommend avoiding the construction, numerous traffic lights and congestion of Rt 23. Instead, I recommend using I-71 to the Delaware exit and Rt 37 west to Delaware to pick up Rt 23 just inside Delaware city.
–  From Delaware, take Rt 23  north 2 miles  to HILLS-MILLER RD, light,  turn left (west).
–  Follow Hills-Miller Rd west about 3 miles (careful at the railroad crossing) to the end.
–  Turn right (north) on State Rt 203  for a half mile to the first right, Buttermilk Hill Rd
–  Kent’s home is the 2nd house on the right @ 3579 Buttermilk Hill Dr,  Radnor OH.
and I’ll use our swap meet sign to mark his driveway (plenty of parking).
Meeting agenda includes:  review of our May 30 swap meet, planning the next swap meet, other regional radio events, and Scott radio  presentation by Kent and a tour of his collection.
You are welcome to arrive as soon as 7 pm, and the meeting starts at 7:30 pm.
